Calico toile used for first fittingPleats tacked down, pockets tacked closed to check fot. Waistband will be tacked on for fittingCentre back is left open so it can be fitted. the 2″ excess is left inside the trousers so they can be let out if needed in the future.Trousers are hand tacked together for a second “in fabric” fitting4cm wide petersham tape used to reinforce the waistbands. Petersham stitched to seam allowancesLining sewn to waistband right side then flipped overfront of waistband is checked to be exactly 4cm wide. seam can be rolled up or down slightly to ensure its right. its then pad stitched in placethe lining is secured in place by stitching in the ditch.Trousers before the tacking threads are removedTrouser hems secured with a herringbone stitch – the extra length inside allows them to be modified i n the futurefinal turned up hemComplete trousers!
